December 6.... all in a day

Our morning scripture study consists of the 7 minutes we are all in the same house during the day. We read as much as we can in between the time Megan and Mathew get back from seminary and when they head out with Laney to go to school. It almost always involves a lot of blankets, multiple children trying to fight over the space heater or a comfy spot by the fireplace.

These days we are trying to read through our candle advent. We find the scripture for the day and let our candle burn down one dotted segment. Watching that little red dot collapse into the melted wax is as close as I'll ever get to meditating.

Ethan comes up for scriptures every morning...

He's learning so much...

Then scriptures are over and everyone is off to school and work and crossfit and the day starts flying by.

Lately, Ethan has been nurturing a love of cooking. He's buying herbs and scoring salmon. It's pretty fun to watch.

The ladies agree.

Our advent calandar said that tonight was a great night to make sugar cookies. We made several batches and Mark took over halfway through so I could drive Megan down to hang out with her Musketeers, Aidan and Ryan.

After we cleaned up (It was bad, you guys....soooooo bad) we had a little fun doing some press on nails....mermaid style! Nothing says Christmas like mermaid press on nails.
