Laney goes to the temple

We couldn't wait till the ward planned a trip...so we met up with the Sirois' and took Laney to do baptisms for the first time. It was so great to spend time just with her and see how excited she was. She was able to do several of our own names, and also she learned how to record them after she was done!

She's already so grown up!

We don't own any jerseys or other chiefs apparel....I was stressing....Anna was really not wanting to show up with out anything "Chiefy" on .....I was sweating it out and trying to think what to do...and I really think the Spirit whispered..."face paint!"

Not bad, right!! I was pretty proud of that arrowhead.

And Everly got an appropriately dainty flower...in Chiefs colors, of course.

Another on-our-way-out-the-door crisis averted!

Fashion advice

I really don't know much when it comes to fashion.

I mean, you know you are in trouble when you find yourself texting photos of different outfits to your friends to give you feedback.

Does this dress come off as "prairie chic"? Or "I just escaped a polygamist commune and need a makeover....stat"?

And am I crazy, or does this dress look infinitely better on the faceless mannequin than it does on me?

I'm going to tell myself that it's because I'm vertically challenged and not let it destroy my self worth.

Clearing the pores

I promise you, every single time we do this, Everly ends up crying because "it's hurting!! Get it off! Why did you do that to me??"

I got a total kick out of watching the kids learn how to swing dance. My joy was inversely proportional to my desire to participate!

We brought cupcakes to school to share with her class and they sang to her while she stood high on her desk!

I went back home to work on Everly's traditional rainbow cake...I don't think we'll ever break this tradition....it's a part of her signature birthday style!

She chose pork chops and cous cous for her birthday dinner...of course!

We are trying.

Anything.....anything at all to get them to pay attention to what we're reading during scripture study.

Today, we're drawing out a big diagram of Lehi's Dream.

The little kids are WAY more into it than the big kids...but the big kids aren't face down in the carpet, so I will take that to the bank!

We had everyone over for breakfast and the house is still standing! They are super cute and SUPER excited to be in Young Women!

Mathew works the drive thru

Mathew has a new job!! He is working at Arby's and we are so glad he's out of the skeezy Pizza Hut corner. It was just....off.

Now he's having a ball talking to customers and being uber polite. It's one of his talents!

He can even handle a goofy dad, coming through with a redneck accent...trying to mess him up. He was cool as a cucumber!

Ahhhh...messing with you kids is definitely one of the perks of the job!
