Arboretum art

I thought it might be something fun and different to take some sketchbooks and pencils with us to the arboretum and let the girl find something to draw.

We reserved the first 30 minutes of the outing for griping and airing our complaints about the weather, wind, unseemly
sunniness and general irritation at not staring at some type of screen....

Then we got down to drawing.

The pencil through the hair....a skill best learned young.

Anna found a sweet little clump of flowers and made herself comfortable.

I didn't finish mine, but they got a few good sketches done and I wouldn't mind going back again. Next time I'll plan a few extra minutes for fighting and nit-picking.

Or MAYBE...I should come by myself.
