Fall surprise

I went out to plant the fall mums and when I pulled out the ornamental sweet potato vines, there were potatoes in the roots. 

I laughed and set them aside to eat, but then thought better of it. Maybe they are toxic or not a food variety?

Talking to my mom, she found the same thing and planned on eating hers as well. Lara warned her off, so we are both a few potatoes poorer, but at least we didn't experience synchronized nausea due to eating potatoes out of the flower garden.

Now, that would have been a funny story!
