U/C Trip - Last day at the Lake...The Hole

Our last full day at the lake. Kaira and I took the three little ladies and went out for a quick hike.

We spotted a deer in the brush!

The water line is so low that it has revealed the green valley and winding river in the lakebed. Its so beautiful...but so alarming that an entire valley can be revealed under the water line.

These three are so close in age! It's been fun to give them an opportunity to get to know each other better. Hopefully, over the years that will continue right here at Moon Lake!

Our only goal was to let the girls play and get dirty. They got right down to business.

Elsewhere the older kids were hitching rides on the back of Jay's trailer for a final go on the kayaks.

We gave our voracious porch potgut his last Hufford meal of almonds and berries.

And he stretched out for a fat and sassy sunbathing sesh.

The whole group trickled down to the beach for a game of 9 square...always a hit!

The kids set out to dig the customary beach hole. Cousin Zach arrived with a SHOVEL, and things got serious fast.

Someone bet Thayne some irresistible amount of cash that he wouldn't go completely under.....

Hali guided him down to the lake to rinse off...it was so thick, it coated him like butterscotch pudding!

The new owners of Moon Lake restore the awesome sign back to its rightful place and we all thought it would be the perfect time to snag a photo of Grandma Kathleen with the grandkids. We are definitely missing some important faces, but as most things go...you just have to make do with what you have!

Our last dessert together could only be campfire eclairs. Sweet smoky deliciousness.

Even mom couldn't resist

While obscene amounts of dough and nutella were being consumed, the kids enjoyed being with Uncle Jay and his fun games.

Oh, how we'll miss the running back and forth from cabin to cabin, the late night jam sessions, the hole-digging and search-party, hummingbird horshoeness of it all.

Moon Lake and Blanchards have my heart.
