But Amy Peterson was determined to create some kind of experience for the girls...anything!
So we put our heads together and came up with two days of fun and activities for the girls to do on their own, over technology and even a chance to get together to sing some camp songs.
Doing campfire bingo over zoom:
Making their camp shirts with with sandpaper printing....
Laney chose her Warrior cat clan symbols
Megan feels she must practice "40 hours a day"
Making tinfoil dinners!
Even Everly helped make one with our leftover supplies.
And our campfire songs...Riley Horspool taught the girls and knocked it out of the park! She was born to be a YCL
We may have missed the mark with our social distancing....
The horrifying "Milk" song. Ack! moo moo moo moo
Doing our smore kits
Megan and Rhiannon haven't seen each other in months! They were so happy to see each other and immediately started comparing the books they've read and movies they want to see when everything opens up again.
Laney and Juliette enjoying a few minutes together
Anna, Avery, Maia and Madelyn....Sydney, Emma and Miranda in the back
I learned this: the girls miss each other. They were so happy to get together and do something (anything!). I also learned that trying to keep teenage girls from hugging and sitting in each other's laps is like trying to catch a cloud and pin it down....or is it keep a wave upon the sand?
Either way.
I missed them too.
