A Low-Key Thanksgiving

I do believe it would be fair to say that this was one of those Thanksgivings that would be labeled as "eh". We are new to the area, all our family lives in Utah or Arkansas and I'm only 3 days from delivering our as of yet un-named baby girl. This translates into no crazy cooking for me and no traveling farther that 10 minutes from our hospital.

Thankfully we were invited over to eat with the Gammon Family. That means that I only had to make mashed potatoes and a chocolate pie. Also, the Gammons have six kids ranging from 10 yrs to 7 months and our kids had a blast. The Gammons were very very nice and we had a good time, but still...it felt a little weird. Where is all the work and the laboring over the turkey and the rolls and the overabundance of pies? It was all a little...ummm....anticlimactic.

So I guess it's no surprise that this is the only photo we have to document the day.

It's a manatee shaped potato that was destined for the cooking pot. R I P manatee potato. Thou hath served us well.
