Everly is Up!

It's finally Everly's turn! Everly flew with me to go visit Grandma Kathleen. It's fall and time to prepare her yard for the winter.

It's Everly's first time flying!

After many 2-day drives to Utah, Everly was a HUGE fan of flying. She loved the snacks and the take off and the movie!

We arrived bright and early and Ethan and Kassie came to pick us up from the airport. Meeting Kassie was our bonus reason for coming out! Those two are starting to plan a life together and we wanted to get to know her!

They dropped us off at mom's and pretty soon we were headed out to Build a Bear at the mall...the same mall we used to go to as kids! My mom really wanted to do something that she could enjoy watching Everly pick out a new friend.

She settled on a little frog with a heartbeat and pumpkin spice scent!

She definitely made the most of being the only kid on this trip and soaked up all the undivided attention and extra goodies.

Mom had bought tickets for us all to go do the Moonlight Lift at Sundance. After we bought the tickets, she realized it was probably not something she'd be able to do, so she grabbed another ticket and we took Ethan and Kassie with us! I admit, I was nervous! Everly and I are both afraid of heights, but we got brave and went for it!

It was pretty chilly..but these big fire barrels were really putting the heat out!

Everly was nervous that I would drop the phone while we were on the lift! But I just cannot leave without a moonlight ride selfie!

The rest of our weekend was spent visiting with Grandma Kathleen, soaking up the sun in the living room, and working on the yard!

We took a little break on Saturday morning to run to Hruska's Kolache's. It's one of Ethan's favorite spots!

By the end of the day, all those plants and flowers and been trimmed and pulled. It's so sad to do when they are still in bloom, but it will make springtime so much easier for Mom!

We even pruned up the Elephant Heart plum tree. That meant that we got to gather all the remaining plums and give ourselves belly aches. It's the only plum tree for me!

We made sure to stock up on yummy bread...rumor has it that Farm Bread is even better than Grandma Sycamores....I will be the judge of that. (It is!)

Monday we did lots of meal prep and got mom set up with lots of freezer meals she can use when she's not feeling well. We did grilled chicken with roasted potatoes and a cheesy batch of Shepherd's Pie.

Everly got one more scoot-about on the buttwagon (as so named by Ethan).

And we were flying back to Kansas! These weekends always go so fast! Until the Spring!
