Eagles v. Chiefs

The Chiefs are going to the Superbowl for the third year in a row. They are going for a "Threepeat", if you haven't already heard...

Chiefs fans all over the world are praying extra hard every night.

On Track went up against a Box in Philadelphia in a head to head workout, just for funsies!

That called for lots of red and yellow decorations and our best local artists to produce Mahomes' buns posters.

We spared no expense and it was

AWESOME

Sadly, the Chiefs lost and so did we.

But I loved every minute of it. We live to squat another day.

Merry Liftmas

Everly's second Oly meet and she killed it! Gravity was feeling lighter today and she PR'd both of her lifts! 17 kilos on snatch and 21 kilos on clean and jerk.

She got a snazzy medal and second place!

She's crazy cool!

MNU Oly Meet

Have you ever cried for joy at a weightlifting meet? I have..and I'll do it again!

Everly has been doing Olympic weightlifting for a couple years now. She was lifting with Lion Chaser most of that time, but the drive out to Gardner and the cost was really starting to wear us out.

So when we decided to start our own Oly Club at On Track, she decided to switch over. Coach Sahn has transformed her and her confidence has grown exponentially!

This was her first meet and she did awesome!

One of the very best things about On Track Oly is that Mark and Everly are doing it together. So they are able to spend lots of time working, talking and building their relationship. I couldn't love it more.

This was Mark's second meet. He set a goal to lift at least 200 kg combined on his lifts and he got 210!

 Their final numbers:

Everly Snatch: 12 kg, 14 kg, 15 kg

Everly Clean and Jerk:14kg, 16kg, 18kg

She got 6 out of the 6 lifts and really loved the experience!

Mark Snatch: 85kg, 88kg, 90kg

Mark Clean and Jerk: 110kg, 115kg, 120kg

He also got 6 out of 6 and was so happy with all his numbers!

And she's still our girl.

Coed Classic is Born

Heck, we just figured out how to run the gym we bought...let's host a comp!

I loved the whole day. Being there with so many of my friends and the people that have stuck with us and supported the ownership change. Running around and solving problems, feeding all our volunteers, stepping out of my comfort zone, watching Mark step up in a new way as a gym owner, watching the Smiths and Terry's do the same....it was the best day. Can't wait to get after it again next year!

Watercolor

Look whose watercolor was chosen by the Johnson County Arts Council to be an actual card that they use and send out!

I love it!

Mall Scavenger Hunt

Three teams....One list.

Photographic proof of all items required.

Meet back here in one hour.

Go!

Me and Everly were FLYING through that list. I thought for sure were gonna win.

But no.

It was Ethan and Anna. They locked it down by finding the most expensive item and the least expensive item.

I challenge you to a rematch! I don't care how many years in the future we have to wait!

Ugly Sweaters

Ugly Sweaters are big business these days. I figured I could find something at Walmart for the Wachter party tonight.

Then I remembered that I haven't become a whole new person and I hate spending money on things that only get worn once. I HATE IT.

And if I absolutely must...it better be good.

Mark borrowed one from Ross and I grabbed a red shirt from the thrift store and hot glued a piece of garland we use on the staircase to the front, along with a strand of twinkly lights I dug out of the halloween totes.

I think we make a stunning couple.

Don't you?

Sadly, we did not win any prizes. How could we have anticipated the guy that had a velcro target on his belly? AND velcro wiffle balls for people to throw??

Wow.

And this lovely lady whose sweater turned her into the most darling Christmas tree?

But we're the real winners because we didn't spend 50 bucks on dumb, itchy sweaters that will hang out with the random brown material we can't get rid of because what if  they decide to do another "Night at Jerusulem" for the ward Christmas party?

Average Joes

We are smack dab in the middle of the Open.

And we are looking for any advantage we can get. Since I can't offer much by way of speed, strength or endurance, I will offer up my crafting skills!

I don't think Alinda was the kid that was afraid to show up with a fabulous do on 'Crazy Hair Day" in elementary. She's the coolest.

Rhonda isn't on our team, but her commitment to bathrobe thrusters deserves an honorable mention.
