Uncle Roger

Our sweet Uncle Roger passed away. I only met him once and he was instantly one of my favorites. He was the kind if guy I imagine was always up for some fun.

Mark traveled to Illinois for the funeral, and was able to spend some time with his Grandma Lucille.

Sneak Peek

It's Megan's Senior year. She means business.

She is determined to make this percussion section the best they can be.

She's geared up and ready to make it happen.

SBL: Bucket List Knockout

We are on a mission to get some checkmarks up on that bucket list.

I mean...we are making memories! (But, I really love those check marks too)

We stopped by Black Hole bakery to see what all the fuss was about. We went out on limb and selected a few savory pastries. We're sophisticated like that. The reviews were mixed. We might be happier sticking to glazed donuts from Price Chopper.

Then we were off to a showing of Alice and Wonderland at the Coterie Theater. It was excellent. And it was freezing. I was so sad for Anna and Laney. It's pretty hard to climb inside of a tank top for warmth.

We set off to find the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and then we would go find the American Jazz Museum.

We didn't know that they are in the same building!

I'm gonna go ahead and put these two in the same category as the Prairie Fire.

Cool to see once.

Fat Sully and Hufford Cousins

 We love this place.

The garlic knots are something special, let me tell you.

But the wow factor of the huge pizza can't be beat! We had to share the experience with the cousins when they were stopping through Kansas City!

I'll take garlic knots to-go, por favor!

On our way home, we spotted a cool art installation. We had to stop and check it out.

And you know we couldn't resist getting in on the action.

Dude...I love these kids. (And you too, Megan and Maf!)

Pogo Pass says we can go the the Prairie Fire Museum, so we're a goin.

Not a terrible way to spend the afternoon, but one time oughtta do us.

Let's take a peek at what's been happening in the back yard, shall we?

I die for that ray of sunshine.

Girls Camp 2022: Day 2

Day 2:

Morning devotional

A quick get-to-know-you game

And we were off to Redneck Waterslide. They were quick studies in the line up technique!

Ice cream cone feast!

Let me tell you, it was hot enough that they only thing to do after a day of water....more water!

I intervened on behalf of a couple fish that were being smuggled back to camp. You're welcome, fishies.

While the kids tooled about in the water, I headed back to make tinfoil dinners and rest of the girls started working on their painted scriptures. They turned out pretty cool!

I dug deep into my memory to teach Emma how to clean (and cook) the already dead fish she found.

I stayed close to make sure that nobody took a bite of that dead cooked fish. yeck.

Fireside devotional and off to bed!
