They started this tradition after Ethan graduated (although there is no guarantee I would have read the emails, even if they were doing it back then). Mathew's graduation rituals were tragically hijacked by stupid Covid protocols. I'll probably always be sad about that.
So we are starting lots of traditions with Megan.
This one was particularly cool.
The kids are invited back to their elementary schools to walk through the halls and see their old teachers.
Eeeeee!!
That singular moment where they get to say out loud that they have BIG plans. BIG.
Laney in concert band!
And the very last time we will ever see Megan on stage rocking the percussion. It's been so fun to watch her love her time in band and make such strong friendships.
This was one for the books.
They've totally figured me out.
The only thing that would make it better is having my boys home again. But alas.
I will focus on the good things!
Raspberries and whip cream on the way to church. Nailed it.
Foot rubs. Nailed it!
Arm massages. Nailed it!
Papusas and Curtido?? On the special plate? Nailed it!
Vegging out with my homies.... you know it....nailed it.
Happy Mother's Day to me!
Heck, we just figured out how to run the gym we bought...let's host a comp!
I loved the whole day. Being there with so many of my friends and the people that have stuck with us and supported the ownership change. Running around and solving problems, feeding all our volunteers, stepping out of my comfort zone, watching Mark step up in a new way as a gym owner, watching the Smiths and Terry's do the same....it was the best day. Can't wait to get after it again next year!
So this is where we are...mailing a package, sending a little cash and singing "Happy Birthday" over FaceTime.
I don't get to make his favorite meal or take him out for birthday fries. But I do get to see that happy face and know he's out making his way in the world.
Happy Birthday, Ethan!
