Ethan was in a fashion show tonight.

You read that right.....a fashion show. And it was super fun to watch. His friend, Ally was the designer and he stepped in when another guy dropped out.

We were completely unprepared for how fast these dried and how tight they felt. Everly was freaking out and crying...Anna was yelling, "get this off me!"

Valentines Day 2019

Mercy.

This year the boxes came with an extra helping of blood, sweat and hostage negotiations.

But we emerged victorious!

Laney asked for a 3D wolf head on the top of her box. After I stared off into the distance and looked like I might have a good cry, Megan stepped in and helped her create this masterpiece with tinfoil and paper mache! I love big kids.

Everly decorated her own with stickers and markers and they had instant regret. She wanted wow factor and rhinestones. We made it happen. Three cheers for a fully stocked craft cupboard!

Anna wanted a Valentine garden. She loved making these flowers from cupcake liners!

And, lest we forget....HEART HAIR!

43 deserves a naked cake

This year I was especially excited about my birthday coming up. I was also a little nervous. It's not about getting older. 43 is pretty great when you are surrounded by all these awesome people. 

But I've been on this intense RP diet for 6 weeks and cake a part of it. I have been very good. I haven't cheated. No treats at all (okay, okay, I admit I squirt whip cream from a can into my mouth when I just can't take it anymore)

But cake.

Oh....yummy cake. Can you guess which slice is mine?? Frosting is nasty.

My kids are funny. I love this quirky little sign.

It just so happens that I have some whip cream in a can...let me fetch it.

Beautiful

Tonight I was watching her sing during YW New Beginnings and I thought, "Wow. She's so beautiful." It's kind of amazing to look at her and suddenly see the woman that she will be.

I'm so proud of her.

Kansas has perks

Here's the thing about Kansas: you seriously never know what the weather will be.

It is highly likely that there will be some freak snowstorms when you least expect it.

Everly's Friend Party!

 Everly invited her preschool co op friends over for to celebrate and decorated cookies and cupcakes. The boys couldn't make it, but luckily, we always have some willing sisters to boost our numbers and make things feel extra fun!

I love to watch their faces when their friends all sing to them and the feel so special.
