To 2025 Maren

I know how hard this is for you.

Let me help you out...this is one reasonably attractive way to arrange the shelves for Christmas.

Add a few battery operated fairy lights and we're good to go.

A spot for the whole family

Look what Mark found!

He not only found it, he haggled it down to 1000 dollars and he and Meg managed to get it home in just two trips.

It was huge. Wall to wall huge. So he put one section upstairs in our room, moved the blue chair to the office and the old furniture is off to Savers.

Whoever buys that furniture will get lots of extra prizes stuck under the springs!

Cocoa bar and old linoleum

First things first....how cute is this situation?

We are new to the Keurig and having cocoa just a button push away is irrisistable to every little sugar addict in this house. I predict the cocoa station will be ransacked in mere hours.

Meanwhile, in the basement......

Ooh la la!!

Superhuman

The girls got some cute wall hangings for Christmas....which I wanted to hang up, but almost died of stuffed animal exposure when I attempted to enter the room.

You think I exaggerate?

You know nothing.

Two days, spackle, paint and 4 trash bags of donations later and I give you....

It's true....

I'm a miracle worker.

I work the miracles.

My present

All I really wanted this year for Christmas was to redo our bedroom. It tends to be a dumping ground all the homeless items in the house. I'm pretty sick of it. We have never painted over the flat brown paint and the lights in the tray ceiling are partially working and kind of orange.

So we painted the walls a soft grey and bought some clean white bedding and hung curtains. It made a huge difference!

Eventually we'll buy some artwork and it'll be looking put together!

A Sunny Thanksgiving

One of the benefits of gathering with friends for our Thankgiving meal is NOT having to make all the food! Instead of being chained to the kitchen, we get to go outside and take advantage of this gorgeous day and decorate for Christmas!

Sara took over the roll making this year...and I've got lights on the trees to prove it!

And now I leave you with a Thanksgiving Poem by Laney:

A Select Piece

Now that I have an established Halloween decoration collection, I can really be selective about the special pieces that I want to procure going forward.

Only those items that really elevate the overall level of spookiness will make the cut.

This year...

THE EYEBALL

Coupled nicely with this brass eyeball holder conveniently spotted at our local vintage retailer (Savers).

Perfection.

Goal decor...it's a thing

I did it! I found something to put on the blank wall in the kitchen!

Who loves it??

Ethan does!

Halloween Vibes

I feel it is time to step up our overall spookiness factor around here.
