Father's Day Favorites

Breakfast made by these beauties!

Sacrament meeting selfies

Chicken on the grill

Potatoes roasted and seasoned with all the favorites: paprika, garlic salt, course black pepper, parsley and olive oil

Perfect cold seedless watermelon

A real surprise! He actually doesn't know what he's getting!! He really, truly doesn't know! For real!

(And can I get a shout out for that awesome hiding spot? Nobody wants to look inside the sewing machine case)

A Ninja Creami! Not only that, I drove to pick it up myself from someone on Facebook marketplace, talked the price down and didn't get murdered in the process. I made five flavors of healthy ice cream yesterday and they are ready to spin!

AJ cheers on the machine

That's the face!

 I love that face.

Father's Day, BB Guns and Rocket Retrieval

Happy days for a dad with a missionary. It's his turn to get that Father's Day phone call.

And a bacon lover's breakfast complete with honorary bib!

Meal of choice: Chick Parm!!

A gift from Mathew!

And looked what showed up just in time for Father's Day??  2 BB guns and a bucket of BBs! It's Dad Magic.

Last night we did our Rockets and Shakes night. Our favorite rocket got caught in a tree, so we decided we would take a walk with our trusty Christmas light pole.

Isn't Kansas pretty?

Success!

Father's Day 2018...full roar.

What would Father's day be without....

A tower of homemade toast.....                               and a plentiful pile of bacon

Where would we be without that smile?

Would it even feel like Father's day without the Chocolate Lover's Favorite Cake exploding in the oven? (This one almost looks like it has a Cubbies logo baked into it!)

Could we even let the day pass without a rousing rendition of Daddy's Homecoming???

How would we do without a fabulous feast of pork barbacoa and pistachio yak??

Or without Mark's traditional "I'm so glad you made this whole cake for me and I don't even need to share it with anyone!" joke that always brings at least one little girl to the brink of tears. Which then prompts him to give her the first slice. Chocolate cures almost all kinds of weeping.

How would we survive without this wonderful man that makes everything so fun and shows his appreciation for our best efforts....even when they aren't really a surprise...

And when they really ARE a surprise!!

This Father's day had everything.

And, yes, I mean EVERYTHING.

Mark Hufford, you are the one for me. You are the guy I will always choose to walk through life with. I will face the cops with you and make you chocolate cake until the end of time!

Father's Day 2018

It's kinda great that Father's (and Mother's) Day are always on a Sunday. It changes the way we celebrate and slows everything down.

Anna arranged our zinnias and day lilies into a beautiful arrangement for dinner.

Mark will always be happy just as long as he has his favorite cake.

And a super killer present.

Like a King Kong bag for all his crossfit gear...believe me, he NEEDS this.

He started the transfer process right away.

And in true Mark fashion...he tries out a new little pillow one of the girls sewed up for him as gift.

I love the way he loves them.  Happy Father's Day, hon!

Father's Day 2017

Right! So...Father's Day time!

But first! Silly face:

Silly face:

And we're back! Father's Day!

Mark is a world class card reader. He really hones in....

He truly emotes

He chose a smattering of favorites....skyline chile and chips with guacamole! It's his party. He can guac if he wants to.

For his special present....a Rizzo jersey with gold sparkly letters. He loves it and was kind of surprised! That means he sent me link to this exact jersey at some point and let me know he would love it if he happened to receive one. But I was super sneaky and allowed a painful amount of time to pass before purchasing it and I also went so far as to put the charge on my Old Navy credit card so he wouldn't accidentally notice the charge.

Evil genius.

Look at this eyes! He's my favorite.

And of course, no holiday celebrating Mark would be complete without a complete commitment to sugar consumption.

We'll make up for it with a nice stroll to the man-made waterfall down the street. I want you to look at this picture and fully understand how far the camera was away from us and how fast Mark had to run to get back in formation before the time went off.  And he did it five times with zero swear words! (Mark never swears...I'm just being a sass).
