As we filled our bellies, we drove out to Powell Gardens. According to my weather app, this is the last coolish breezy day for a good long while. I've learned the importance of choosing our outdoor activities wisely so as to not die.
With map in hand, we set out to see what we could see!
Check out this cool fort! Made from planks and canvas.
Inside was a maze. I'm a total sucker for this natural looking stuff!
Next stop the Morel sculptures.
Laney is looking pretty groovy!
A nearby Canadian Goose was doing some yoga...he was a true zen master. Or maybe his foot had fallen asleep?
Next to the splash fountain! I told the girls not to get to wet....
The cutest little moss roses surrounded the fountains
We explored up past the fountains and found two greenhouses with loads of succulents and artistic pieces!
We could see the barn and silo off in the distance and took a path through the butterfly meadow to get there. This was my favorite part of the whole garden!
We took a quick photo in the kids vegetable patch. Its a real winner!
Then up to the top of the silo! Check out the view!
By now my poor grandma feet were starting to hurt and I was most grateful that the guy in the big golf cart happened by to shuttle us to the far side of the garden.
Stunning views and air conditioning in the Powell Garden chapel! I once played in a quartet as a beautiful bride walked down the aisle here.
Just to the left of the chapel, we followed the path into the woods and searched for fairy houses. These are the best kind...the ones that seem like we might turn around and discover that someone has closed their door...
There was so many beautiful vistas! Even better with a lookieloo through your sisters glasses!
