Considering we are solidly in the middle of doing the 75 hard challenge, birthday celebrations might feel a tad....restricted. 

But Mathew isn't gonna let that keep him from geeking OUT over his mother turning FORTY SIX. 

Still super excited at dinner time!

And you know what? These fruit/granola sundaes we actually pretty fantastic! 

The BEE

As in many things, the reward for winning is more work. 

Winning her school spelling bee autimatically qualified her for the district spelling bee. 

There were tears. 

And threats to drop out. 

But in the end, she showed up and represented her school.

She made it through three rounds! 

When she missed a word, I expected some dissappointed tears. 

But mostly she was ready to get out of there.

So we got to leave early and take a picture of her in her super cool t-shirt Uncle Jim and Aunt Ameli sent for the occasion. 

 

Florida Bound

Megan is off to Florida with the Falcon Regiment. 

This is the stuff you look forward to, the stuff that makes the other stuff worth it. 

And someday, if you're very very lucky....I might tell you the very very questionable, possibly morally wrong thing I did to make sure she was able to go on this trip. It will never be written and I will deny it fervently in a court of law...but I'd do it again and it's pretty freaking awesome.

Homecoming

He's home!!!

We are glad he's here. Tonight we catch up and let him tell all the stories. 

Tomorrow we mancala.
