This kind of confidence can only be bestowed by Gaby Lucas.

Dance it out, ladies.

SBL: Rockets and Shakes....disaster locatation

Our favorite spot is under construction (lame) and so we figured it would be okay to go to a spot over by Brougham....

IT WAS NOT OKAY.....

All of our rockets were lost in the neighborhood. Every one...even Big Bertha. And the Skinny Pencil. The humanity!

We consoled ourselves with shakes.

And climbing random pillars.

We will rise again.

Mathew's Busy Birthday

We packed a lot in today. We checked a couple things off of our bucket list....

Science City! The magnet at the beginning is always the coolest thing.

But we loved the new addition of weeble wobble chairs.

And we discovered the awesome new outdoor space! We didn't get much time on it because it started raining....but we plan on coming back to spend more time.

We road the streetcar over to the Crown Center, which only holds one allure for us these days.

Candy store!!

Then we zipped back home for a pot roast dinner.

Mathew asked for chocolate cake with cool whip frosting and shaved chocolate. Good choice!

Ethan lit the candles and served it up. He had to hit the road with Mark...tonight was his Eagle Proposal.

Mathew humbly directed the birthday song!

And he loved his many video game related presents...along with "smelly" markers....haha!

The minute the last present was opened, Ethan was out the door. Good luck! You may have to tell me how it went in the morning, because I am exhausted!

Happy 15th Birthday, Mathew!!

Father's Day 2018

It's kinda great that Father's (and Mother's) Day are always on a Sunday. It changes the way we celebrate and slows everything down.

Anna arranged our zinnias and day lilies into a beautiful arrangement for dinner.

Mark will always be happy just as long as he has his favorite cake.

And a super killer present.

Like a King Kong bag for all his crossfit gear...believe me, he NEEDS this.

He started the transfer process right away.

And in true Mark fashion...he tries out a new little pillow one of the girls sewed up for him as gift.

I love the way he loves them.  Happy Father's Day, hon!

Hide the Hickey

Mark has this little suction cup tool that he used to lift the screen on the ipad. He stuck it to his forehead and Everly thought it was SO FUNNY!

And then she did it to herself...and her soft little baby skin couldn't withstand the suction power.

And she got a perfect circle hickey right in the middle of her forehead....she was so embarassed.

Neverfear...forehead art is gonna be ALL the rage. It's trend-settin time.

One Eye, Two Eyes, Three Eyes

Mari decided to host a theater camp this summer. Who does that? Isn't that "next-level parenting"?

It truly is. She let the kids sign up for parts and had them come over to rehearse and design sets. Megan loves the idea of being involved with theater, but usually gravitates to the artistic side...set design, crew...

The night of the play arrived. Words can't express how much I loved this. It was so much fun to be there and sit with friends in a green backyard...the kids were fantastic.

Anna created the program art. Isn't that great??

Laney in her role as the "old woman"...I knew that cane I got for my 40th would come in handy!

Megan in her supporting role of "holder of the stick" and "swinger of the golden apple".

Knocked it out of the park.

The bows!!

I think if I could...I'd freeze time right there...

SBL: Theater in the Park- The Little Mermaid

I love this day. I've been looking forward to going back to Theater in the Park all year. I'm so excited, I'm not even letting it bum me out that it's Little Mermaid. I'd like to put in a formal request for something that I didn't watch to death as a child, por favor.

Nevertheless! It will be wonderful.

Especially with good friends to play cards with on the hot asphalt as we melt into puddles and wait for the gates to open.

Mark and I thought we'd spring for some comfy low chairs this year. Turns out...not that comfortable. Back to the store they go. But Everly and Aaron made good use of them before the show started.

Okay, okay...it was so adorable. The sets were wonderful and the actors did a wonderful job...especially the sea witch!

The costumes!! So much fun!

And the mermaids, although strangely "well endowed", were so charming, and "swam" about on heelies!

We love the Theater in the Park!!
