#1: TWO CAKES....this is so that we can have one to slice and serve as a part of civilized and expected birthday behavior immediately following the singing of the birthday song. The other shall be wrapped and save and only available to Mark...he will it it one decadent slice at a time. I'm not sure why it has taken us 41 years to think of this.
#2: He came home to a balloom homage to his most favorite and memorable "dad sayings". These were voted on and selected by the children and they absolutely nailed it.
And the grand finale...
I have to say...He loved it!
#3: Friends over for cake and ice cream (Mark's cake already hidden away, of course)
We played silly games with our huge deck of cards
The Flynns couldn't resist getting Mark a t-shirt to match Todd. We have a running joke that they constantly show up to parties and events dressed alike, leading to many close calls with the wives.

Anna and Laney performed a ukulele duet in honor of the occasion!
And then, of course, the kids played and the adults talked. It's the way it always is and it's perfect.
