When I was a kid I rarely wore shoes. The bottoms of my feet were half an inch thick and were impervious to thistle or thorn. I was proud to see that although the Hufford genes are clearly dominant in our children....there is a bit of the Blanchard shining through (perhaps '
shining' isn't the word?)
I always thought not wearing shoes was a Deep South thing. I still do it most of the time, and I'm sure my kids will never learn to wear shoes without being told explicitly to do so.
ReplyDeleteMy sisters and I used to run on the road barefoot to toughen our feet for the summer of bareness. Good memories :)
