Oh Everly!!

This has been a big week for this little monkey. She had appointment to get her two front teeth pulled so that the permanent ones would have a spot to move down.  

We opted for the laughing gas....it didn't help. Not one bit.  It was traumatizing, you guys. NEVER EVER sit a foot away from your little girl's face while a grumpy old man gives her shots and then pulls the teeth right out of her head. It is NOT FUN. 

 But it's over now and she has the cutest toothless grin.

Anna has been showing her some piano moves.

AND! She learned to tie her shoes!!

These are the best of times and the worst of times!

We descend upon the dentist

I don't remember making a dentist appointment for the kids over Christmas break. That doesn't sound like something I'd want to do. But then again, if we're on Christmas break, I don't have to take them all out of school and we don't have to worry about all the work they're missing. 

Seems like a pretty good idea to me.

And for some strange reason, the boys get along when sitting in itty bitty chairs and playing on the old video game consoles in the waiting room. 

And Megan is obsessed with photo bombing. Even if its just a foot. (I can hear her delighted giggle now).

And just because I don't want to forget it, but can't bring myself to tell anyone in my immediate circle, here's the story of the day:

The hygienist was cleaning Ethan's teeth and said, "Do you bite your fingernails?"

Ethan: "I little, I guess. Why?"

Hygienist: "I just dug a fingernail out of your teeth"

Ethan: "Are you sure it wasn't a toenail?"

Hygienist: "I'm going home" lol

Mom: Trying to find a hole to crawl into.

Everly joins the ranks

She's three and it's time to check out those teeth. 

Luckily we are in the dolphin room and there is a stuffed dolphin to hug. (Dentistry has changed since I was a kid.) 

And when she's all done, she gets two tokens for the "THE CLAW".

Remember when?

Remember when you couldn't wait to go to the dentist because the hygienists were perky, cute girls and they gave you sunglasses to wear and even a handheld video game to keep you happy while they poked around in your mouth? And how then gave you two tokens to play "The Claw" game after you were done and you skipped out of there with a goodie bag full of fun toothbrushes and floss and mini toothpaste and a rubber ball?  

Me neither.
