SBL: Coterie Theater with 64 of our best friends

So here's funny little story....I thought it would be fun to take the little girls the Coterie Theater. I went online to buy tickets and they were SEVENTEEN DOLLARS apiece!! 

Insanity!

Then I read that they were only 5 dollars apiece for the group rate. So I put out the word to see if a few of our friends would like to go with us...and then I started thinking of more people that might feel left out if they caught wind of our little fieldtrip, so I invited those people too. Then those people texted and asked if they might invite a few others, and how could I say no? It is a free country after all....

And very soon I had a big old group of people signed up to go and I was putting it all on my credit card and praying that they would all be honest and pay me back. How do I get myself into these things???

Well. They did all pay me back and I fibbed just a little bit on the start time to make sure they all got there early and we could all walk in together as I stood with the usher and we counted everyone off that was in my group. I must get a subconscious kick out of making life as silly as possible. 

But the play was SO cute. I was completely enraptured and laughed harder than the kids. I can't wait for them to do this one again! 

We loved going together and we'll have to put this one on our bucket list for next year too.

Of course, we'll have to see if our 64 best friends are available that day....

SBL: Rockets and shakes

The weather is perfect. Well, its not perfect, per se, but the temperatures have dipped just enough to not actually melt our faces right off. 

If you may recall, last year we made a grave error in judgement and launched all our rockets into a neighborhood, never to be seen again....

So we're starting fresh.  With this beauty! It has propellers!!

SBL: Redneck Waterslide and Short Stop

We made the trip to Missouri to live it up redneck style. We weren't the only ones...I actually think there was a Jeep convention somewhere. Mark loved it! It was like on the road window shopping!

We were having so much fun, I only took ONE photo!

And the Short Stop never disappoints.

We loved our day! Even considering the 7 hours of driving....

Like it never happened

No more time? Lack of enthusiasm? Plum out of energy? 

Replace unfinished items with the random fun stuff you've ALREADY done. 

Bam...list just got way closer to being complete.

We know it's just the parking garage, but it's such a cool spot to get photos! 

I wish this guy could come hang out in my garden. He's my favorite statue ever.

She doesn't look like happy, but Anna was actually having a great time standing on the spot where the streetcar bends to go around a corner. Made her laugh with delight every time!

The always have the craziest flavors. I got the goat cheese/walnut/apricot!

We walked the grounds of Nelson Atkins and found the very best bickie to wipe! That's for you, Aunt Sarah!!

We sat outside the glass maze and munched on Indian potato rolls with tzatziki while we giggled at people bonking their noses. 

We always have fun with the Terrys and Wadas!

Kitchen choices

I'm not good at envisioning things. I would need to actually install the counter tops in order to know what they will look like in my house. That's not something that we can do...this isn't a ceramic bunny from Hobby Lobby we're talking about!

We went over to an industrial looking warehousy place and we looked it all over. The main thing I want is NO MORE ORANGE. 

So we are thinking of painting the upper cabinets off-white and the lower cabinets a grey/blue. We've settled on the this quartz counter top:

And I think we've decided on the rectangle tile below.

This is a major step for us! The contractor will start soon and I'll be painting the cabinets. Let's all pray I don't screw it up.

Thievery

It's time I crack down....somebody has stolen all the marshmallows out of our Lucky Charms. I have my suspicions. The perpetrator committed the crime in their own bedroom. I think the appropriate punishment would be marshmallowless cereal for the next week....with a the possibility of a few light brights or legos in the mix.

And if that's not enough, the dang birds keep eating every single blackberry before I have a chance to pick it. I'm taking defensive measures. I will have what is rightfully mine!

EFY 2019 -- Mathew and Megan

I love that these two get to go to EFY together this year!! 

Mathew was feeling independent, so I helped Megan get all settled in her room. She had the advantage in her first year, thanks to Mathew's sage advice...treats...don't forget to bring treats (or sheets).

She is roommates with Hope Wagner, which should be good for both of them.

We all went to lunch before we said goodbye to the kids, but first!! We've been itching to do this for 3 years......
